The possibilities to upgrade FOBOS are now under discussion in the Directorate of the Flerov Lab. The unique capabilities of the spectrometer consist in measuring simultaneously the emission angle, velocity, energy and nuclear charge of the reaction products with reasonable accuracy in a large solid angle. Also, FOBOS reaction chamber is enough big to house a large additional equipment [miniFOBOS].
